For a new cell line (cell types not listed), how do I choose between PolyMag and CombiMag?
For testing a new cell line or a cell type that is not listed in our list of cells successfully transfected, we propose the Magnetofection selection kit that contains one tube of PolyMag and one tube of CombiMag allowing you to test both formulations.
If you already use an existing commercial transfection reagent that
does not work very well with your cells you can combine it with
CombiMag to augment significantly your transfection efficiency .
CombiMag is remarkable for primary cells and hard to transfect cells
when combined with an existing commercial reagent or with a virus. The
efficiency of PolyMag is also cell type dependent and is suitable to
use directly with your DNA or RNA.
